LAURA IRMIS CREATES
Work
In Laura’s paintings and ceramics, she explores bold, contrasting colors with textures offering depth and intimate passages. She often uses motifs of ladders, energetic lines, and patterns of familiar ideologies. Her current body of work takes a split approach, deciphering calm and chaos. Her art offers space and order, ensuring isolation within each brushstroke to build a balanced, confident perception.

MY LATEST SERIES
Data (2024)
This figurative work demonstrates the value of data through lines and high contrast.
Compassion Fatigue (2020)
In this series, I create an eccentric abstraction, layering loose lines and ladders against washes of dissonant contrasting colors against large empty areas. While creating off-balance and complex compositions, my work sheds light on how I feel in a constant compassion fatigue.
